"One of the best plant stores in Tampa! Prices are fantastic, plants are always incredibly healthy, and the customer service is excellent. It's honestly worth visiting for the atmospheric location alone, but you can make it a complete little outing by visiting Pickford's next door as well for a treat. The soil sold is great, and these are some of the only plants I've gotten that have stood up to my occasionally neglectful plant parenting strategies. An absolute all around gem that I'm excited to see thriving."
"Very cool and eclectic shop, lovely owner. 90% live plants for sale, some potting soil, some knick knacks. Some additional gardening accessories would be great to make this a one-stop shop."
"Hello Tampa Bay and World! Grown In Dirt Garden Shop is locally owned and operated. Highly recommend anyone and everyone to stop by and visit. There is a warm, bubbly and inviting atmosphere here. You will either see Randy or Jeimy there and they will assist you with all of your plants needs. In addition to various plants being sold there, Manny’s World Best Potting soil is sold there. The garden shop is also laid out quite interesting. Pop in and they’ll let you know to navigate it!"
"Beautiful, healthy plants and good prices!"
"Grown in Dirt on Hillsborough Ave is fantastic. Healthy, beautiful indoor plants, vibrant outdoor options perfect for Florida, and fair prices. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Danish gave me great care tips. I also purchased Manny’s potting soil to repot my plants as they grow. I also got the perfect Valentine’s Day gift at the cute gift shop. Already planning my next visit! Highly recommended. 🪴🌴"

Capsicum annuum
Prefers consistently moist, well-draining soil. Mulch helps retain moisture.
Eryngium foetidum
A tropical herb that prefers rich, moist soil and shade from hot sun. Has a stronger flavor than cilantro.
Salvia rosmarinus
Needs excellent drainage and sandy soil. Very drought-tolerant once established. Hates 'wet feet'.
Salvia officinalis
Needs well-draining soil and good air circulation. Does not tolerate wet, humid conditions well.
Thymus vulgaris
A low-growing herb that demands sharp drainage and sandy/gritty soil. Perfect for rock gardens.
Origanum vulgare
A spreading groundcover herb that is hardier than other Mediterranean herbs. It still prefers well-draining soil.
Lavandula angustifolia
Requires extremely well-draining, alkaline, sandy/gritty soil. Hates humidity and wet soil.
Brassica oleracea
These are heavy feeders and drinkers. Rich soil and consistent water are key for tender leaves.
Fragaria x ananassa
Prefers well-draining, slightly acidic soil. Good air circulation helps prevent fungal diseases.
Tagetes patula
Known for its pest-repelling properties in vegetable gardens. Prefers well-draining soil and plenty of sun.
Aglaonema commutatum
Prefers well-draining soil and appreciates higher humidity but is very tolerant. Ideal as a houseplant.
Aloe vera
Use a cactus/succulent mix. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings to prevent root rot.
